To continue the museum’s engagement with our public during this period of quarantine, we are launching Screenings, an online platform supporting our programmes. Starting with our current exhibition, Constructions of Truths, which opened early this year in February, we will be sharing the videos included in the exhibition in their entirety for 24 hours starting Sunday, April 26, 8:00 AM (PST) until Monday, April 27, 8:00 AM (PST)*.
Luay Fadhil’s Scribe is one of the featured works in MCAD’s exhibition titled Constructions of Truths. The work portrays the narrative of a grieving man and his interactions with a scribe which is predominant in the culture of Iraq.
Insight: Moving Image, Philippines proved popular last February 27, as a crowd of artists, filmmakers, students, arts professionals, curators and enthusiasts packed out and filled MCAD’s Multimedia Room.
Over 450 artists, art professionals, academics and guests joined us for the opening of ‘Constructions of Truths’ on the evening of the 6th of February 2020.
In the ‘moving painting’ From Sea to Dawn (2016), which is currently featured in MCAD’s exhibition titled Constructions of Truths, the artists Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh, and Hesam Rahmanian focus on some of the most urgent issues of today, which echo a long and recurring history of iconoclasm and migration issues.
