MCAD Film Screenings: March 2019

MCAD’s screenings for the month of March is curated by editor, write and filmmaker Erwin Romulo, the film screenings complement MCAD’s current exhibition ‘the center will not hold’. These films look into the interrelation of film and migration, and forms of subverting, engaging, rethinking, proposing and resisting a challenging present.

A documentary focused on young children working, with the process and rewards of their labor contrasted with their innocence.

Sa Palad ng Dantaong Kulang

Directed by Jewel Maranan
The third of her documentary on Tondo, Maranan shows the struggles of the residents. The film looks at the impact of the continuing lack of concrete and long-term help from the government in light of changes in the community.
