“Meals make the society , hold the fabric together in lots of ways that are charming and interesting and intoxicating to me.” – Anthony Bourdain
People of all cultures find their identity in art and food, that’s why almost any country has its own iconic food0related film. Bourdain said, “If I’m an advocate of anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food.” This selection of films from around the world allows you to do just that — immerse yourself in new worlds; walk in the shoes of the multi-faceted characters; and savor a delectable visual feast. Like good food, a good film nourishes.
This month’s selection is curated by Ida Anita del Mundo, filmmaker, writer and musician. Currently teaching Writing for Multimedia and Scriptwriting at DLS-CSB, Ida del Mundo wrote and directed K’na, the Dreanweaver, first feature film on the T’boli people of South Cotabato, Mindanao, and the first and only film to use the T’boli language. She also directed and produced the documentary An Orchestra In Search of A New Home on the Manila Symphony Orchestra.
The screenings will be held at The Loop, 12th Floor, SDA Building, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. FREE ADMISSION.
